We are excited to announce our new line of thermally modified wood tables, Stormwood! Outdoor dining is more popular than ever, and nothing compares to the ambiance of dining around natural wood tables. Our Stormwood tables offer an affordable and environmentally responsible choice over teak, ipe, endangered tropical hardwoods, and (gasp!) fake plastic wood or PT.
Manufactured in Portland from Ash hardwood sustainably harvested in Pennsylvania, Stormwood tables are designed to provide maximum protection from UV, extreme temperatures, and rain. The 100% chemical-free thermal modification process provides Class 1 durability, dent, and scratch resistance, which all vastly increase the stability and lifespan of outdoor furniture. Stormwood has a straight, knot-free, smooth grain with an exotic brown finish, and the thermal modification process ensures color consistency all the way through the wood.
Tables come in most common restaurant sizes up to 56 inches round and as community tables up to 48 inches wide by 192 inches long. Complimentary outdoor table bases can be ordered with or without a 2 inch umbrella hole.
Sustainable features include sustainable domestic hardwood, domestic manufacturing, and a LEED compliant, low-VOC finish made from sustainably harvested Rosewood oil (no trees are cut down in the process). Viridian Wood also partners with the National Forest Foundation to plant a new tree in a US National Forest for every Stormwood table made.
