When the Carving Room in DC called on Viridian for reclaimed wood restaurant tables made from salvaged bleachers and Jakarta reclaimed wood paneling, we were happy to help. We manufactured all of the tables from salvaged bleacher seating recovered from a high school on the East Coast. Our skilled craftsman meticulously filled all of the old bolt holes in the bleachers with black epoxy and glued each plank together to preserve the original seat numbers for an authentic look. Our expert finishers then added a durable finish to the top of the tables to finish off the look. The reclaimed wood paneling on the bar front is our Jakarta Rustic which originates from transpacific shipping dunnage that used to carry steel railroad track from Japan. Its distinctive look and durability are a crowd favorite in even the most refined restaurants.
“Like many good Jewish delis before it, The Carving Room with its 55-seat space is a family operation—but unlike at the delis of yore, you’ll find a bar. Place your food order at the front
of the eatery, and then belly up to the booze counter or one of the many tables fashioned from reclaimed bleacher seats. The brews are all American, from good ol’ Miller Lite to craft finds like Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye, with drafts available by the group-friendly growler.”
