Our Sunset Celebration Weekend Event Project

Earlier this month, Viridian Wood participated in Sunset Magazine’s Celebration Weekend. On June 2-3, our reclaimed wood tabletops were featured in this unique event highlighting the best home, garden, travel and food in the West! Our contributions: a gorgeous curved bar top, as shown, and veneer paneling under the bar.

This built-to-spec recycled wood counter was a centerpiece in The Ultimate Outdoor Living Room at Celebration Weekend. Building this piece was fodder for our creativity. Sunset’s design requirements were unusual – as you can tell, this was far from your standard rectangular bar top. And we savored the chance to use our Old Growth Redwood Veneers as paneling under the bar. It’s gratifying to see our hard work pay off in the form of this amazing piece! And it was wonderful to hear about the compliments and inquiries our work inspired.

We love partnering with design wizards like Sunset because it gives us the chance to explore new ways to turn reclaimed wood floors, tabletops and paneling into conversation starters. This is no boring recycled wood; we take special care to use sources and procedures that allow the natural color and texture of wood to shine. Home and business owners are often thrilled with how our reclaimed wood floors and tabletops attract the admiration of guests.

The unusually shaped countertops and side panels that we built for Celebration Weekend were composed of our Jakarta Market Blend – Rustic wood, but in case you’d prefer a different style, we also build reclaimed wood tabletops in oak, beech and Douglas fir. If you really want to get visitors’ attention, choose our old-growth Douglas fir gym bleacher tabletops – complete with bleacher numbers still intact!
